There is something incredibly special about watching a family grow through my lens. I first met this wonderful family three years ago when they booked a newborn session for their daughter. Fast forward to today, and they are back in the studio celebrating six amazing months with their newest addition—a handsome baby boy who arrived this past August.
A Brave Little Start
The journey to six months hasn't been without its hurdles. Shortly after he was born, this little guy faced some tough digestive issues that landed him in the hospital. After a series of tests and a lot of worry for Mom and Dad, they finally discovered he is lactose intolerant.
In a twist of "you can’t make this up" irony, his parents actually own our local Salmon Arm Dairy Queen! While it’s certainly not the easiest diagnosis for the son of ice cream shop owners, we are all crossing our fingers that he might outgrow it as he gets older. Regardless, he is clearly thriving now and was such a champ during our session.
Pure, Simple, and Timeless
For this milestone session, we leaned into a "pure and simple" aesthetic. Using a crisp white backdrop and soft, plush textures, we kept the focus exactly where it belongs: on the sweet connection between siblings and those curious six-month-old eyes.
I truly love this timeless look. By stripping away busy props, we capture the raw emotion and those tiny details that change so quickly. Seeing big sister look over her baby brother so protectively is a perfect testament to the bond they’re building right here in our community.
Whether he grows up to enjoy a Dilly Bar or sticks to dairy-free treats, one thing is certain—he is one lucky little guy to have such a resilient and loving family.
